From where he sits at the VIP bar, Lucas watches his next victim watch him. He drops the glass on the side table beside him, one of the many ornate furniture placed beside every VIP table in the VIP lounge, and he pretends to look at the Rolex Continental covering the tattoo on his wrist. He mustn’t act too thirsty or too keen. The aloofness is one of the baits for landing a meal. He had also learned this a long time ago.

If the meal isn’t looking at him when he looks up, he knows he would have to pick from any of the bodies throbbing and pulsing to the music in the dance hall. His charm has never been in doubt. But sometimes people get distracted. He hopes she doesn't.
